Today's farming
Oh, a little early with this chapter.
Farming is about knowledge and planning. In a varied climate, weather conditions must be exploited. Winter and darkness are a great time for studies. I will now design a new system for firewood, follow the progress under the thread about woodsheds.
These buckthorns were sown in -25, now they rest safely under the snow
Slanted windows, sealed with XPS boards on the sides. As a last resort I installed them last year. The strawberry plants that I planted there in the fall are still alive in January, without any form of heating.
The picture is from winter solstice, and the plants were green early in january.
Update: after a cold spell in January with temperatures down to -15 degrees, these plants have also entered hibernation mode.
