The urinary system
Urine is a resource, but when we discharge urine into the ocean it will contribute to ocean pollution. Urine is excellent as fertilizer, and the urinary system utilizes the urine. Experience with the system is that a lot of urine is used in a small area. The most effective experience I have so far is to collect urine in a bucket or jug and spread the urine manually.
The urinary system is constructed like a urine pit. At the bottom is foundation plastic with the spikes up. The PEM pipe (the thin pipe, 20 mm), is pierced with 8 mm holes. A 100 mm drainage pipe is threaded over the PEM, which is also pierced with 8 mm holes. Over the pipe is crushed stone, and over the crushed stone is a road fabric. It is filled with soil over the sheet, and this is the area I use for a nursery.
The construction is based on a standard urine pit, but I have placed a nursery above.
Inside the drainage pipe is the drilled PEM pipe. The road fabric next to it was laid over to prevent soil from clogging the system.
